Of everything you could put into Morse code, your name is the most personal — which is exactly why it's the most popular first project and the most-gifted design. The good news: spelling a name in dots and dashes takes about a minute once you know the two small rules. Here's how, with free tools to hear it and turn it into something you can keep.
Step 1 — Convert it letter by letter
A name is just its letters in Morse, one after another. Look each one up on the alphabet reference or the chart, or paste the whole name into the translator and it does it instantly. For example, SAM is:
- S = ...
- A = .-
- M = --
…which written together is ... .- --.
Step 2 — Get the spacing right
Spacing is what makes it readable as real Morse rather than a random run of dots:
- Leave one space between letters (a 3-unit gap).
- For a first and last name, separate them with a slash / (a 7-unit word gap).

Step 3 — Hear it (and learn to send it)
